After School Programs
TWO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
We have 2 different after school programs available for our Andasol students.
Youth Services (YS):
The district provides one coach to supervise the After School Playground until 6:00 PM every day. Students get recreation, hot supper, and time for homework. Because this is not enough supervision for the younger students, district policy does not allow students in Grade 1 or Kinder/TK to stay on the After School Playground, also referred to as Youth Services (YS). Parents can pick up their kids anytime from dismissal until 6:00 PM, and parents do not sign out their kids. Parents can get a Youth Services application from the YS Coach on the first day that their child participates in YS.

Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC):
The LACC Program is an after school program designed for working parents. Students get recreation, hot supper, time for homework, and traveling enrichment programs. The students meet with their coach at dismissal every day, no matter what time school gets out, and students must be signed out by the parents between 5:45-6:00 daily. This is a government funded program, so a minimum of 80% attendance is required. There are 4 coaches, with 23-25 students per coach. Because LACC only has 83-85 spots available, it is not guaranteed that all students who apply will get in the program. Once all spots are filled, LACC coach will begin a waiting list and call families as spots become available.

My name is Ana Perez and some of you may know me as Coach Ana. I am the new Site Supervisor for LA Conservation Corps (LACC) After School Program. I want to introduce myself to the Andasol community and families that may not know who I am.
I started as a Program Leader when LACC was first funded at Andasol in 2019. I now have the privilege to say I am the Site Supervisor! Throughout my four years here, I’ve grown in so many ways and I'm excited for this next chapter. I’m anxious for everyone to see what I’ve planned and have in store for our LACC students! I love working with children and I’m thrilled to build more relationships with the families. Do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions, concerns, or to simply say hi. Tenemos 2 programas después de la escuela disponibles para los estudiantes de Andasol.
Servicios Juveniles (YS):
El distrito nos da un entrenador (coach) para supervisar el patio después de la escuela hasta las 6:00 PM todos los días. Los estudiantes tienen recreación, la cena y tiempo para hacer la tarea. Debido a que esto no es suficiente supervisión para los estudiantes más jóvenes, la política del distrito no permite a los estudiantes en Kínder/TK y Primer Grado permanecer en el patio después de la escuela, también conocido como “Youth Services.” Los padres pueden recoger a sus hijos en cualquier momento desde la salida de clases (2:40 PM) hasta las 6:00 PM, y los padres no firman para recoger sus hijos. Los padres pueden obtener una solicitud de Servicios Juveniles del Entrenador de YS el primer día que su hijo participe en YS.

El Programa de LACC es un programa después de la escuela diseñado para padres que trabajan. Los estudiantes obtienen recreación, la cena, tiempo para la tarea, y programas de enriquecimiento ambulante. Los estudiantes se reúnen con su entrenador a la salida de clases todos los días, no importa a qué hora salga la escuela, y los padres tienen que firmar para recoger a sus hijos diariamente entre las 5:45-6:00. Este es un programa financiado por el gobierno, así que se requiere un mínimo de asistencia del 80%. Hay 3-4 entrenadores, con 23-25 estudiantes por entrenador. Debido a que LACC sólo tiene 83-85 puestos disponibles no se garantiza que todos los estudiantes que apliquen ingresen al programa. Una vez que se llenen todos los puestos, la entrenadora de LACC comenzará una lista de espera y llamará a las familias cuando haya lugares disponibles.
